I just recently found out that every year there is a Big Lebowski Convention held in LA, which is about a six hour drive from my home. Apparently you go dressed up as one of the characters from the movie, meet at a bowling alley and bowl and drink white russians all weekend. Anyone ever heard of this before? I'm sure there are others around the US, not just in LA, but LA seems to be the closest one to me. I would have went this last weekend, but I'm pretty sure you have to be 21 to go. This time next year I WILL be 21 and I have every intention of driving out there, even though I've never even been to LA in all of my life.

something to look forward to, at least :D

i have a whole year to figure out who to go as, but being a female, my options are limited, unless I just go as a man, which I'd have to go as the dude, since i could train my hair to look just like his if i tried, and it'd be easy to find a second hand light brown bathrobe. ;D

Can't you go as Bunny Lebowski?

I don't know... I think that is a question for the Gender 101 thread. Maude Lebowski?

I would go as either Walter or The Dude. (I wonder if they allow firearms in the alley hmmmm)

Lebowski-Fest started in Louisville, KY: my stomping grounds. I didn't get to go last year, but I'm planning to go this year. The real Dude, Jeff Dowd (the guy Jeff Lebowski is based on) attends every year, and so does a replica of the puke-green 1972 Plymouth Valiant from the film.

Should be fun, to say the least.

I've never even seen The Big Lebowski. But that convention sounds like fun. Is the movie, or whatever it is, any good?
