Going into this, I was skeptical, who wouldn't be? With a new director and a whole new plot, didn't know if Snipes would be able to pull off a good sequel. Let me come right out and say it though, Wesley Snipes did a very good job, as did the director, Guillermo del Toro.
The visuals for this movie were done very well, as were the action sequences. At times the acting was very, dull and laid out with no force behind it, but those moments were easily forgotten.
Basic storyline for this movie was that Blade(Snipes) has been looking for Whistler(Kristofferson) ever since the last movie took place. Blade finds him in the first half hour of the movie, but he knows what you soon learn, that he, Whistler, survived the attack brought on by Deacon Frost in the first movie. Sounds hard to swallow doesn't it? Was for me too, it gets better though, however, I won't get into those details.
On we go into the the main plot of the movie. A new breed of vampires has emerged which feed on vampires as well as humans. When the new breed, whom are called Reapers, feed on vampires, they turn the vampire into a reaper as well. So, a small band of vampires ask Blade for his help in getting rid of the reapers. He accepts and then all the fun starts.
There's too much to say about this movie that would give away all the things that make it enjoyable. I, for one, thought it was a very good job by del Toro. Very few sequels live up to the original, and this one came pretty darn close. I would have to say that if you were at all interested in the first Blade, to check this one out. You won't be disappointed.
