Limited Edition "E.T." DVD Information
It is being reported by Variety that E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial will see a limited DVD release starting on October 22nd. The flick will be on shelves for ten weeks, apparently, before being pulled indefinitely.
This is very strange, but very noteworthy, as E.T is the second highest-grossing film of all time not yet to be released in this format (the first is Star Wars).
It's also being reported that the DVD will contain ten hours of miscellaneous extra footage, including plenty of Spielberg's thoughts and descriptions of the filming, as well as shots of John Williams conducting his now famous score.
