Im sure this has been done every Halloween but im being lazy and not using the search function sooooo......
Whats your best list of movies to spend Halloween watching? Obviosuly where talking scary/spooky themed movies here and not musicals and such.
For me, a good night of Halloween viewing spookyness would have to include a list such as -
Nightmare on Elm Street (Preferably the first one) Poltergeist one and two......maybe three Beetlejuice Rocky Horror Picture show Hocus Pocus The Shining The Excorsist (sp?)
and maybe Scary Movie....maybe
I have a halloween movie question though.
There was a film that i used to watch when i was younger that i really wanna see again. but i dont know the title. The best way i can describe it is there is a bunch of school kids who come across a medallion of some sort and all the classic monsters come after them to get it, theres Dracula (he gets garlic pizza burnt onto his face at one point), a mummy, A werewolf (that gets kicked in its fury balls by one of the kids) and Frankenstein. But Franky turns out to be a goody who helps them. It ends with this big whirlwind tornado thing that sucks them all up and frankenstein saves them all. Anyone got any idea of the film im talking about? Its pure 80's.

I always end up watching part of Rocky Horror … especially the Time Warp scene… and this year I’d like to watch some of the old Vincent Price movies… they’re pretty cool… and maybe The Haunting (the original) …
That movie sounds very familiar Blib but I can’t think of the name…

Ah, that'd be The Monster Squad. I loved that flick when I was younger.
On the Hocus Pocus/kiddie side of things, my friend Angela is in love with the Halloweentown movies.
We've done theme nights in conjunction with our parties, with the movies running constantly for anyone who wants to watch 'em. One year we did Hammer films, and then we did the first two Phantasm movies. Last year we didn't have a theme--we showed Killer Klowns from Outer Space, which worked pretty well since virtually no one aside from me and T-roy had seen it, and the afore-mentioned Halloween.
Cripes, I can't wait for Halloween. This is one of my favorite times of the year, bar none.

I have just started to work on getting a better horror movie collection started. I love all the old horror movies that came out back in the day. i just bought children of the corn, nightmare on elm street, candyman, and a few others i can't seem to think of right now. those are good picks for around halloween time, also the newer movie house of a 1000 corpses is an awesome film. i also just watched hocus pocus, that will always be a classic on the disney channel around this time of year.
You're smart. This is a FUN Halloween movie. I just saw it on TV again a few hours ago.
Yeah its an awsome halloween movie! Sarah Jessica Parker Pre-Sex and the City is good in it. Also Thora Birch (Is that her name?) is cool as the little red haired girl, and u just cant beat Bette Midler as the high witch.

I love that film. Thats a film that me and my bro used to watch when we were younger, its so stupid! I love the bit when the clowns fire popcorn into that girls hair and then they grow into little ratty monster clown things. And i love the way they wrap their victims in candy floss to eat them later.

You could probably rent it somewheres. Although it would probably be dirt cheap on Ebay.
The Halloweentown movies are cute and fun, much like Hocus Pocus, although they are definitely angled more toward kids. But, hey, Angela loves them, and she also loves Hocus Pocus...

Typically I watch the Michael Myers films in order on Halloween night, though last year I was traded that tradition for being introduced to Evil Dead for the first time.
I know I'll tick people off by saying this, but I loved Dreamcatcher! So, this Halloween (continuing into the next day) will probably include that, The Ring, House on Haunted Hill (the new one. . . it's freaky!), and at least one Michael Myers films. I've never seen a Chucky movie before and my girlfriend is trying to convince me to watch the first one. Is it any good?

YOU LOVED DREAMCTACHER?????!!! How, why? HOW?
I would like to watch some of the evil dead films, ive only ever seen Army of Darkness and it was sooo funny, is that the same set of films? with that character Ash? And werent they directed by Peter Jackson or am i getting totally confused here. the box set for those films is in a really cool case, its the book of the dead, is that what its called?
The Chucky films are good, they get funnier and less scarier as they go on. Not really Halloweeny though.. dont know why but they just havnt got that halloween feel for me.
Is anyone going to watch Channel 4's 100 Scariest moments this Halloween? OoOoOoH! im really looking forward to it!!

The Director would be Sam Raimi who also worked with Robert Tapert and Bruce Campbell on them. The Book of the Dead (Necronimicon), yes.

A theatre near me has a tradition of a 10 or midnight showing of Evil Dead II. They also have a costume contest.. It'll be fun to have a crowd that devoted to the movie..so I'm going to check that out.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of scary movies. But I am looking forward to seeing Haunted Mansion. It is going to be released a bit after Halloween, I think, but the trailer looks pretty funny and Gracey Mansion looks awesome. Anyone else planning on checking this out?

Aaah yes i always get those two mixed up...Sam Raimi and Peter Jackson that is...god knows why. Must be the whole going from making gruesome horror films to making big blockbuster films.
So did u watch the 100 most scariest momets Rev? What did u think of it if you did? i it!
Were some really suprising placements in there, Jaws placed higher than i thought it would, only becuase i suspect you always place scary moments with supernaural moments...well i do anyway. Se7en was another suprising placement.
Heres the top 20 as voted by the British Public -
20 - Don't Look Now (1973)
19 - Hellraiser (1987)
18 - 28 Days Later (2002)
17 - The Thing (1982)
16 - An American Werewolf In London (1981)
15 - Friday The 13th (1980)
14 - Se7en (1995)
13 - The X-Files (1993+)
12 - The Evil Dead (1983)
11 - Psycho (1960)
10 - A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984)
9 - The Omen (1976)
8 - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
7 - Halloween (1978)
6 - Ring (1998)
5 - The Blair Witch Project (1998)
4 - Alien (1979)
3 - Jaws (1975)
2 - The Exorcist (1973)
1 - The Shining (1980)
Was interesting to see Nicholsons door breaking moment in "The Shining" beat Lynda Blaires head twisting in "The Excorsist". It was hard to forget that not all the scary moments were in films too. I totally forgot about "Ghost Watch" that was on BBC 1 about 10 years ago. that was awful. My brother actually did not sleep for a week after that. Really horrid stuff. His now 22 and he turned the sound off when that clip cam on
Over all was some great viewing for a Halloween Spookfest though
Scrap "As Voted by British Public" and put "As voted by Channel 4 viewers", god damn it was such an awful top 100.
I mean, Coronation Street getting in is insulting.
Well i should imagine the majority of Channel 4 viewers are the British Public, i heard about the top 100 from a friend and voted on the net.
I agree with the Coronation Street placing, i was disgusted with it also but then again a load of Corry fans must have voted on the list, hence its placement. Overall though i thought it was a brilliant top 100.
Stating the British Public generally implies everyone
I thought it was awful, first of all it hardly listed any specific moments, it was the Top 100 Scary Moments, not Top 100 Scary Films/TV Shows. The only moments I remember them singling out were Carrie end and The Shining.
There were a lot of other terrible entries, including; Thriller (yes, MJ video), Buffy and The Others, I mean come on...
It was something to watch whilst I was at work on an all-nighter, but other than that, it was pretty bad.
