It's fun looking at other people's DVD collections. Here is the collection at our house. This is the combined collection of Mom, Dad, and 4 kids (3 boys & a girl) between the ages of 5 and 16, so yeah, there's a lot of kids titles in there. First, the Frank Capra titles, which are my favorites and I keep separate from the rest because I'm weird that way. Then the rest, which we keep primarily in alphabetical order anyway.

Great collection MadMikey, we have allot of Thomas Dvds aswell. My son loved Thomas so much but recently he has started to watch movies to go to bed with

My 5 year old has been obsessed with Thomas since he was 2. He could've probably gotten by with only one Thomas DVD, and just watched it over and over. Mom and dad needed there to be some variety for our own sanity. Recently he's started branching out into stuff like Toy Story and Star Wars, though.

Updated with The Dark Knight (2008) and The Best of the Greatest American Hero (1981). The Greatest American Hero disc isn't really a "Best of," it's just the first 4 episodes, but I love that show and it was only $1.99.

According to the USPS website these will be in my mailbox tonight, so I went ahead and added my wife's Midnight Madness (1980) and the new 70th Anniversay Edition of Frank Capra's Meet John Doe (1941).



Edit: At first glance, this version of Meet John Doe looks to be the best version I've seen to date. I just skimmed through it, though. It has the WB logo at the beginning, then a Laureate logo superimposed on the screen over the first few seconds of the film. I also watched the restoration comparison. Not perfect, of course, but better than any other copy I've seen.

The remainder of my Christmas presents arrived. Added Arsenic and Old Lace (1944) and The Matinee Idol (1928)/Frank Capra's American Dream (1997) to my Capra Collection.

I have a DVDaf account, but I quit using it a long time ago. They had made some changes that made it less user friendly, IMO, so it became more of a hassle than anything else. Recently I've been using the "My Collection" tool at Chasing the Frog. It's not too bad.

My wife got me Bell, Book and Candle (1958) for Valentine's Day, since I like old movies and Jimmy Stewart.

Picked up Shrek Forever After (2010) on sale for $9, to complete the set. $5 for Jumanji (1995), which we've seen several times and always enjoy, but the younger kids haven't seen it. It's just a fun movie.

yea. you have a great DVD collection. i think i will start collecting some after i graduate. it would be cool in the future if you have this kind of movies after some couple of decades.. LOL.

My wife, who never buys movies for herself, picked up one of her childhood favorites the other day - the original 1976 Bad News Bears. I don't remember if I've ever seen the whole thing. I'll have to watch it with her when I have time.

Your wife has good taste in films. I love Bad News Bears (1976) make sure you give it a watch MadMikey,Its a fun film.

My oldest recently started his first job. His first purchase? Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, to complete (for now) his Harry Potter collection. He usually has to wait until Christmas or his birthday (which are two weeks apart) for us to get them for him.

When Big (1988) popped up on both mine and JayDee's Top 100 lists on the same day, I wanted to rewatch it. Then I realized we didn't actually own it. (I also realized we own relatively few movies on my Top 100 list - weird.) Then I went to the grocery store to pick up something we needed for dinner, and what just happened to be there? So Family Movie Night was Big that day.
