Haiti needs your help!

Just a friendly reminder to go out and donate some money for the quake victims of Haiti. They need our help. Even a five dollar donation goes a far way if a lot of people contribute. I didn't even have to leave my couch to donate money. In Canada you can simply text msg "Haiti" to 45678 from your Rogers or Bell phones. The money goes to the Salvation Army. If anyone could just post different ways you can donate in your country. I hope everyone can help out with 5 dollars.Common Mofos let's not buy a new DVD this week and give that money to someone in extreme need.

When I was getting the links for the Red Cross and Salvation Army, I saw numerous organizations asking for donations for Haiti... some I recognized and some I did not... and unfortunately, things of this nature always draw the scam artists out... and the FBI is issuing warning about them... so when you donate please do a little homework and make sure you're donating to a legitimate charity organization.

In Britain we've got the Disasters Emergency Committee, an umbrella for all the organisations who help in major disasters so aid can get organised more quickly

the footage last night of the little boy and his sister was heartrending. Who could have a dry eye after seeing that joy amidst such terrible scenes.

LONDON — A seven-year-old boy told Sunday how he raised more than 50,000 pounds in a day for survivors of the Haiti earthquake by doing a sponsored bike ride.

Charlie Simpson set out to collect just 500 pounds for a UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) appeal by cycling five miles around his local park in London -- but his efforts inspired hundreds of people to donate online.

He started his fundraising efforts after seeing shocking images of children being pulled alive from the rubble in the Caribbean nation.

"I just think it was quite sad when I saw the pictures on the TV," said the youngster.

His mother, Leonora, helped him create a sponsorship form and said the document quickly spread around the Internet and the enormous sum was donated in one day.

"He really felt strongly about this and thought that something had to be done," she said.

"But what started off as a little cycle round the park with his dad has turned into something a lot bigger than that and we can't believe it.

"I am extremely proud of our Charlie, he's done really well. He's worked hard and he's raised a phenomenal amount of money so we couldn't ask for anything more."

Donations from his JustGiving website go to UNICEF, which is leading emergency relief efforts on water, sanitation, education and nutrition as well as supporting child protection.

UNICEF said it was the first time anyone had collected 50,000 pounds in one day for the fund and the money would make "a huge difference".

"It's always heartwarming when any child starts to respond and there's something quite special about a child in the UK reaching out to the children of Haiti," said spokesman Michael Newsome.

The magnitude 7.0 earthquake, which hit Haiti on January 12, has killed tens of thousands of people and is the worst recorded disaster ever to hit the Americas.

Absolutely. Makes your heart sing, doesn't it? Shame he'll probably grow up to knife an immigrant in a street fight over a drug deal and then be let off with a leinent sentence to mug an old lady.

Sorry about that, I've been reading the Daily Mail.

The total has more than doubled now. According an article I just saw, it's now £110,000. Fantastic new. I guess the more publicity it gets the higher the total. At least, I hope so.
