I had a pass to see this at a screening like two months ago, but I couldn't drag myself out of the house to see it that night. I just have a gut feeling it's not going to be as funny, certainly not as dirty with a PG-13 rating, as a Judd Apatow production and that instead they're going for more of the School of Rock kinda thing...which may work out fine - but on the other hand no Mike White or Richard Linklater to be found. I thought the previous script from these screenwriters, Seeing Other People, was very standard and uninspired. And director Peter Cattaneo's name doesn't exactly fill me with great expectations, either. The Full Monty was cute and all, but that was also over ten years ago already. I love Rainn Wilson on "The Office", of course, but not enough that I'm gonna see a movie just because he's starring in it.

So...yeah.

Generally if I have a pass to see a movie for free and I can't force myself to see it then, there's little chance I'll spend money to see it. Certainly not in the theater, probably not even on DVD a few months down the line. Unless the majority of reviews from critics I respect are just glowing, I'll be seeing this one when it hits cable TV.

I think they found the best main character they can get (Rainn Wilson)
Sort of like Sylvester Stallone was really the only person who could play Rocky.

The DVD just came out actually... I thought it was really hilarious! the beginning was definetly the highlight of the movie for me.. rainn was awesome in it but i also think applegate looked hot as hell in the movie.. it's definetly worth seeing for the DVD if you haven't yet... did you eventually see it ?
