Fave movie soundtrack?

Tools

Thought of some more so I'll expand my list of 1.

Any soundtrack by Michael Nyman, but A Zed and Two Noughts especially.

Arizona Dream by Goran Bregovic and Iggy Pop.

Time of the Gypsies by Goran Bregovic. I note that the makers of Borat actually stole some of this.

There's Something About Mary. Dumb movie but it has Johnathan Richman who gave the best live performance I have ever seen.

Akira. Pretty weird.

McCabe & Mrs. Miller. Leonard Cohen.

In the Mood for Love. Both the original music and the Nat 'King'Cole stuff.

Repo Man. A lot of great stuff on that soundtrack.

Return of the Living Dead. Could have been better. Nothing by the Misfits and several other bands come to mind who would have fit in as well. Still, Surfin' Dead is one of the best Cramps songs.

Winners and Sinners. Blind Chinese family singing Young Turks (and doing a much better job than Rod Stewart). That's the best part of the movie.

Boondock Saints
The Matrix
Blade1,2,3
Natural Born Killers
Judgment Night(perfect)
Requiem for a dream(it's depressingly good)
Trainspoting

Clint Mansell is the greatest film composer of our time.

Man there are some really good ones here. A few that I actually bought are:

O Brother where Art Thou
The Crow
Braveheart
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

Not sure if they are great or not but I really like them.

Dancer in the Dark
Muriel's Wedding
Sid and Nancy
Suburbia would be my top pick

Another great soundtrack from a newer movie is Black Snake Moan

American Graffiti

I think am going with the soundtrack of The Beach entitled Pure Shores!
That's a kickass soundtrack, no doubt. I own it.

My favorite soundtrack is no other than "For You" by The Calling, this as an official soundtrack of the movie DareDevil. I like this song because it absolutely fitted in the movie and it has a great message.

I kinda liked Mo' Better Blues. Terrence Blanchard is a great score composer and a nice trumpet jazzman.

The Long Good Friday, the music in the end scene is awesome.
Trainspotting and Gladiator also have good soundtracks.

Anything by Angelo Badalamenti and Ennio Morricone, really.

If we're talking about movie scores, my favourites would be Herrmann's Taxi Driver (Scorsese, 1976) score and Rota's The Godfather (Coppola, 1972) score.

My favourite soundtracks would be from Mean Streets (Scorsese, 1973), Pulp Fiction (Tarantino, 1994) and Easy Rider (Hopper, 1969).
