I want to bring this thread back to life just for a bit to brag on how well this summer season is going. One more thing us film geeks should be happy about, we've had some crazy high critic ratings for mainstream film this year, even on some films that are over rated *cough*X-Men*cough*.

Guardians of the Galaxy is currently at 93%
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes 91%
X-Men 92%
Godzilla eeks in at 74%
Captain America 89%

Sure, there's Transformers...but I can't keep you guys from watching these abominations so they're just going to keep making them.

Also, there's tons of lower budget junk in theaters right now like Lucy, Tammy, The Purge 2: Purge Harder, Sex Tape, etc. But that can be said pretty much all year round.

Basically, I'm just happy that I've been able to go to the theater 5 times this year outside the awards season and enjoy what I've watched (The Lego Movie, X-Men, Godzilla, Apes, and Snowpiercer).
