Today is the first day of the festival, and anyone close to vegas should come and check it out i got passes all next week, not any to give out, but i could probably get you in in the daytime for sure.

I saw Sunshine State today, a very funny movie with Angela Basset, Edie Falco and millions of others. if this comes to your area, see it, its one of the best indies i have ever seen. I met the old black guy thats in this movie and Air Bud. Bill Cobbs, nice guy.

So come out to Vegas this week and check out the film fest, ill be updating on movies and stuff.

I'm very anxious to see Sunshine State, John Sayles is a genius and always offers something that blows me away.

Had I known about this earlier, I actually might have been tempted to get on a plane and come see the fun. But it is much too short notice.

The only other new movies I'm incredibly interested in are Run Ronnie Run (the "Mr. Show with Bob & David" movie) and Tadpole (Sigourney Weaver - yummy!). I'll see them eventually, but why wait?

And on the short film side, gotta, gotta, gotta see Heat Vision & Jack, with Jack Black teaming with a talking motorcycle, voiced by Owen Wilson (directed by Ben Stiller)! Come on, that HAS to be hysterical. The Troy Miller retrospective should be a blast too. Miller, along with Run Ronnie Run, has directed "The Ben Stiller Show", "Mr. Show with Bob & David", "Tenacious D" and most recently "Greg the Bunny". Anything they've thrown together from his career is going to be worth seeing. I also love Sarah Polley, so the prospect of her directorial debut I Shout Love is intriguing.

I'd be extremely excited about some of the gambling-themed revivals. The one I'd see no matter what is Altman's California Split, which has never been in-print on video and never received a proper widescreen transfer. I love the movie (Gould & Segal are fantastic) but would kill to see it on the big screen. Jean-Pierre Melville's Bob the Gambler just had a very nice release on DVD (Criterion Collection, no less), but it's another I'd surely love to see projected in the cinema. I saw Scorsese's Casino FIVE times theatrically when it was released, but it's a breathtaking experience that I'd like to have again. Hopefully they're good prints.

Anywho, enjoy!

Whad'you know?
I would so like to see Visitor Q!

It was set to be released her, as part of the Incredible Film Festival, but due to censorship issues and complains, was removed before it had a chance to screen.

did you see me on the news? i was on it here in vegas in my WTf t-**** saying stuff abou tthe fest.

I saw 2 movies today Spun and The Chicken Rice War.

Spun was a movie about a couple days in the life of some speed addicts. It had patrick fugit (almost famous) it starred jason swartzman (rushmore) and also had john leguizamo and mickey rouke, even mena suvari. It was well edited and acted, just a little too much. I never wanna see mena taking a **** and leguizamo maturbating at the same time EVER AGAIN. It is worth a rental, but really just a Requiem for a Dream rip off.

The Chicken Rice War was a movie from singapore about two rival chicken rice stands right next to each other. Its based on romeo and juliet. It was by far the best teen movie i have ever seen. Why cant american teen movies be more like foreign ones? have a theme, or a plot , something. Get out and see this one, my parents enjoyed it, too.

as for tomorrow i hope to see Visitor Q, supposed to be the most messed up movie at cinevegas. I cant wait

crazed out movie freak
sounds like fun fill us in on the details

didnt get to see vistor Q , instead i watched Super Sucker on Sunday. A movie written and directed by jeff daniels, hell it even stars him. Its about vacuum salesmen. It starts out hilarious, and then ends up relying on the same sexual joke again and again. Not good, something oyu would see on UPN late at night.

today i saw 2 documentaries, one about an interesting character, flyerman, and the other about the guy that stole the tank in 1995, called cul de sac.

the first one, flyerman was about a guy who builds a chacter who give flyers (you know for events and such) to people. It was a good story about his life, and what e thought of it. it was a work in progress, though. With a little more editing, it could be great.
Cul de sac was one of the best documentaries i have ever seen. its about the man who stole the tank in 1995 and drove it thought the streets of San diego. it told the whole story, had personal interviews, all kinds of footage, it was great, and also really funny... because of the people that they interviewed. If this movie ever gets on PBS or the history channel like it should, check it out.
My friend and I were originally gonna go see Sex and Lucia, but we only stayed for the firs 30 mins, it was basically a spanish softcore porn movie.

How much did you pay for those tickets?? I am a little confused about the whole procedure. You just pay up front for the movies that you want to see. I was so bummed out when I couldn't win the passes on Mix 94.1 and then I found out how much they cost. The movies don't cost that much but they make it sound like it is too crowded to get in.

nahhhhh its never full, i think you just go to the brenden and to the tickect booth thingy and its 10$ for a premere, and 7 for a regular movie.

The only movie that was full and i couldnt get into was the premere of bubba hotep, because bruce campbell and freddy prinze jr were there.

crazed out movie freak
oh well both those guys suck anyway.

Bruce campbell is great!!! wtf is your problem?????? ever seen an Evil dead movie?!?

"Shop smart, shop S-mart" hes the most quotable guy ever!

freddy prinze, i understand, but bruce campbell is a god!

crazed out movie freak
man no need to get crazy were all intitled to our own opinions

yeah, alright, but come on bruce cambell

anyway, last night i saw 24 hour partypeople and the gambler

24 hour party people was about a guyt named tony wilson who opened concert stages and he also opened a company named factory records. The man that played tony wilson was a very good actor and the screenplay was very funny, but the director and cinematographer should be shot. there were times when you would swear that they just shook the camera. it wasnt that good, and i doubt that you will see it, but goo for it, just for the great british punk music.

The gambler (1974) stars james caan, it was very good, had a great last shot. Go out and rent this if you havnt seen it. James Caan is a bad-ass

crazed out movie freak
loved him in the Godfather until he got shot
