Is Tom Hanks the most successful actor both commercially and critically?

I see this post is little over a year old. So I hope that you have corrected this mistake and have seen Shawshank by now. haha I just get sad when people haven't seen it.

As far as Tom Hanks he has definitely returned to form this year with Captain Phillips and Saving Mr. Banks. Both fine performances. I think Phillips might earn him a nomination, he killed that role, specially the end.

Also quick trivia. Tom Hanks had to turn down the role of Andy in Shawshank. Scheduling conflict. He was shooting Forrest Gump. ha looks like he wouldn't have gone wrong either way.
