Luis Garcia Berlanga has made several of the best-regarded movies in Spanish cinema history. Several of them, most especially El Verdugo (The Executioner/Not on your Life), Placido and Bienvenido, Mr Marshall, are right at the top of recommended list on filmaffinity.com.
And I can't find them anywhere. (I did once see the last one exorbitantly priced on some auction site, and I guess I may have to pay it.)
Who has seen any of his movies? What did you think? And where could I find versions with English subtitles?
