The Man From Nowhere -

Sorry, foster.
Well you watched it so that is cool
It grew a lot on me after a second viewing, I may have rated it the same after the first time I watched it. I think because the ending has multiple goodbyes so it doesn't go out with a bang.

Goldfinger

Pretty overrated. It still has good stuff to it, like the laser scene, but there's better 60s movies out there.

Tooken

It's a parody of taken if you didn't figure that out by the title.

This is a lot like a wayans brothers movie except without the charisma of shawn or the comedy of marlon. The main actor doesn't do a bad job but he's not a movie star. if this were samuel jackson or something in the main role the film would have been a lot better.

No actual good fight scenes although I suppose that is expected.
The final climax is a fight scene but uhh… the dude eats a bunch of viagra and gets a 4 foot penis then uses it to dual somebody that has an actual sword.

Havoc

YES!! Gotta love it when you're surprised by a great movie.
All I knew about this one is that anne hathaway gets topless. The power of an actress…

Thank you anne hathaway for taking off your shirt and tempting me into watching this movie
This is everything that "Bling Ring" failed to be.

Upper class teenager bored with her life starts taking chances and playing with fire to feel alive.

Boring first hour. It got better, jumping through time. President Bush was humanized.
But this movie fails. It never showed his reaction to the 9/11 attacks as they happened.

I thought oliver stone was saving this pivotal moment for the very end of the film.. but it never happened.
The ending wasn't nearly as good as it should have been.

Sometimes this happens to me, I imagine better endings as I'm watching and the real ending comes as such a disappointment when I see it.
I've written 6 short stories but I've yet to attempt a feature. It will happen soon.

sorry if I don't consider ripping off another film's concept 'genius'

Which film is that?

"A Film with me in it" starring Dylan Moran.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1139319/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

You may know him as the lead actor in "Black Books" or as a supporting actor from Shawn of the Dead.

He has an amazing voice, I'm surprised he doesn't do cartoon acting or CGI.

I just watched the trailer and I feel the two films are different enough. What makes Tucker & Dale work is how the structure of the film fits into the genre and the tropes/expectations.

The trailer looked funny enough, but I wouldn't call Tucker & Dale a rip off. That just seems like sour grapes from someone who digs the first film. This isn't a REPO MEN situation.

In my humble opinion of course.

The thing isolated becomes incomprehensible
A Fistful of Dynamite (Leone, 1971)

This is one is a bit different from Leone's other works, because it has more political themes and character development. Unfortunately this wasn't Leone's idea so while you do have is style in it some of them are missing, and some simply don't fit in. But it's still a pretty good Western IMO, better than the majority.

What did you think of the last scene?

The Martian (2015)

I decided to see The Martian instead of Sicario, I will see Sicario here soon though. The Martian, how can I perfectly describe this movie? Its like a mix of Castaway and Interstellar according to some people, and I didn't like Interstellar. That being stated The Martian is the single best movie I have seen, probably since The Departed, which ironically had Matt Damon in it as well and it is the best science fiction movie I've seen in a decade. Now granted I have not read the book but the cast was fantastic, the story itself was very good, the science was good (Although a couple things are questionable but I've been told the author did extensive research when writing the book itself), the acting was phenomenal, AND to make it even better the visuals were simply fantastic. Also it was FUNNY, yes this movie has great humor in it as well which just ups your spirits throughout the movie. The directing was great as well. It is a big win for Ridley Scott (Even though I didn't hate Prometheus like a lot of people did) If you haven't seen this movie or you did see it and didn't like it I feel sorry for you. It blows Castaway out of the water, and I LOVE Castaway. The movie was over 2 hours long but it felt like only an hour had gone by after it was over, that is how long it keeps your attention. It was done so well that if I didn't know humans haven't stepped foot on Mars yet and you told me this was based on true events I'd believe you lol.

WARNING: "Not really a spoiler but incase you don't want the inside joke spoiled" spoilers below
Also the Lord of the Rings reference they make with Sean Bean IN THE ROOM WHEN THEY MAKE IT made me laugh harder than I probably should of. Also #MattDamonIronmanConfirmed

I have to return some videotapes.

Sicario -

Amazing. The best movie I have seen all year and it was a nice movie to start my comeback with haha. The story was good but the cast, direction, and cinematography knocked it out of the park. One of the best performances I've seen from all 3 leads and this might end up being my favorite Denis Villeneuve, but I have not seen Incendies yet. Don't miss out on this in theaters, as it was even better seeing it on the big screen. I cannot begin to describe how well Roger Deakins nailed this and same with Johann Johannsson (the composer). This is already getting preordered on blu-ray.

DO. NOT. MISS. THIS. It will be a huge mistake.

All things considered, it could have been a lot worse, I guess.

Reservoir Dogs

Just goes to show that Quentin Tarantino really is a director for all times. Even his first feature is top quality.

Collateral (2004) - Michael Mann

- I'm happy to finally have seen that flick. I think that Michael Mann is an underrated director and he make very good action flick. I like this one very much, the action sequences are great, the direction is nice and the 2 lead performance are very nice. Definitely a very good entertaining ride and it's highly rewatchable so nice job Mann.
