Look, I'm not judging you - after all, I'm posting here myself, but maybe, just maybe, if you spent less time here and more time watching films, maybe, and I stress, maybe your taste would be of some value. Just a thought, ya know.

Tetsuya Nakashima: Memories of Matsuko, Paco and the Magical Picture Book, Confessions

Masaki Kobayashi: The Human Condition I, II, III

Zhang Yimou: Happy Times, Hero, House of Flying Daggers

Quentin Tarantino: Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown

Majid Majidi: Children of Heaven, Color of Paradise, Baran

Wong Kar Wai: Happy Together, In the Mood for Love, 2046

Luis Buńuel - any three between Viridiana and That Obscure Object of Desire

Masaki Kobayashi: The Human Condition I, II, III
and then just followed by Hara-Kiri, Kwaidan, and Samurai Rebellion. What a run.

Kim Ki-duk - Spring Summer Autumn Winter...and Spring, Samaritan Girl, 3-Iron
Without having even seen Samaritan Girl that is a three movie run that is hard to beat The other two are
movies.

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
You left out September and Another Woman, so it doesn't count. I like Husbands and Wives, Bullets Over Broadway and Manhattan Murder Mystery since the last two rank among my fave Woodys.

This might be supposed to go in the other forum but I wasn't sure which to put it in.

Basically, what do you think is the best three-film consecutive run for a single director?
3 movies in a run?

Tarkovsky: Solaris, The Mirror and Stalker
Miyazaki: Nausicaa, Castle in the Sky and My Neighbor Totoro
Kubrick: 2001, A Clockwork Orange and Barry Lyndon
Takahata: Gauche the Cellist, Grave of the Fireflies and Only Yesterday

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
Brad Bird - The Iron Giant, Tne Incredibles, Ratatouille

If you go by who had the most-creative control:

Walt Disney - Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo
David O. Selznick - Intermezzo: A Love Story, Gone with the Wind, Rebecca
