To me it was the original Thai movie Shutter. I wasn't scared scared, but I think I jumped a few times which is more than any other movie has made me jump.

I think it was a combo of everything... Zemeckis (sp?) direction, Hanks performance, and the script itself was very good. Classic movie in my oppinion
