Scorsese's Best Decade
Which decade would you consider his best output?

Re: Scorsese's Best Decade
Personally, I would pick the 2010s as his best decade. For me, Hugo and Wolf of Wall Street are both 9/10 and Silence and The Irishman are both 10/10. And Shutter Island is good too, an 8/10.

Re: Scorsese's Best Decade
The 80s I guess? But he's a (moderate) hit or (hard) miss anyway.
|
The 80’s, probably. He is a master, and Taxi Driver/Raging Bull/After Hours/GoodFellas/Casino are among the best he has to offer.

Re: Scorsese's Best Decade
I was tempted to vote for the 90s just for Bringing Out the Dead, but Taxi Driver and Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore win out.

Re: Scorsese's Best Decade
Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Last Waltz and Alice could arguably be his top 4, so how am I not going to go with the 70's?

Re: Scorsese's Best Decade
I didn't like Mean Streets though.

Re: Scorsese's Best Decade
70's to 2010's has a standout each or more, but i love the 70's most which has my favorite M.S. - Taxi Driver

Marty had had his share of misses, that’s for sure. Mean Streets was ok, but New York,New York, The Last Waltz, The Ming of Comedy, and Cape Fear were disappointing.
