Okay, now I'm starting to wonder if I need to re-read the questions… :D

r66, are you really going to make us wait a week to find out if we’re “rational” or not… ;)

LordSlaytan 02-22-04 06:44 PM

Yeah, do tell!

Sexy Celebrity 02-22-04 07:06 PM

Ok guys. Patience.

Hopefully you kept the numbers you wrote down for each question. If you didn't, try to remember them--jot them down somewhere. Scoring this test is a little complicated.

The authors of this scale have developed what they call a "cutting" scores. If the number you used for an item is equal to or greater than the cutting score, give yourself 1 point for that item. If the number you used is less than the cutting score, give yourself a 0 for that item. For example, if you used either a 4 or 5 for item 1, then you would give yourself 1 point for this item. If you used a 1, 2, or 3, then you would score this item as a 0. The cutting scores for the items are thus:

1: 4
2: 4
3: 3
4: 4
5: 3
6: 3
7: 3
8: 3
9: 4
10: 3
11: 3
12: 3
13: 4
14: 3
15: 4
16: 4
17: 3
18:3
19: 3
20: 3
21: 4
22: 4
23: 3
24: 4
25: 3
26: 3
27: 3
28: 3
29: 3
30: 4
31: 4
32: 3
33: 3
34: 3
35: 3
36: 3
37: 3

One last thing you must do before calculating your total score. Items 24 and 36 are reverse scored, so if you gave yourself a 1 for either of these items, change it to 0. If you gave yourself a 0, change it to a 1. After doing this, add all the 1's together for your final score.

If your still interested, post that score here and I'll write what it means.

Ditto.... maybe later.

r3port3r66 02-24-04 02:24 AM

Om, perhaps bri' added wrong. But here is what the book says about the final score:

Score: 22 Percentile: 15
Score: 24 Percentile:30
Score 26 Percentile: 50
Score: 28 Percentile 70
Score: 30 Percentile 85

"People with high scores on this scale are likely to be rational and logical in their view of the world. People with low scores are likely to accept a variety of assertions from others uncritically."
