What music would have played at your funeral?
Some people leave a will specifying exactly what to play while they are being buried. Or maybe it's just a movie cliché, I don't know. Still, I'd tell people to play this when my days run out:

Still can't choose between Stayin' Alive and Another One Bites the Dust...

Re: What music would have played at your funeral?
I have a different question....
Let's say you could set up a TV and a DVD/Blu-ray player, or something, at your funeral. Would you run a MOVIE on it during your funeral and if so, what movie? Not that people have to really watch it, but it could just be to the side, playing. To me, this sounds better than music. |
I don't think I would want a movie playing at my funeral. I would rather it be a gathering of friends and family who just sit around and talk about all the good times we've had over the years.

I have actually thought about this very question quite recently and had an in-depth discussion about it with a co-worker. I decided that I would like to have a viking funeral, have my friends carry my body on their shoulders and be placed on a funeral pyre. I also decided that this song would be the soundtrack to said funeral march. Some melodic, depressive black metal would be just the ticket, specifically at around 2:38 of the song.

I'm sure SOMEONE has had a funeral where they did this idea. |
I don't think there's one specific movie that I would want played at my funeral, but maybe some specific clips and quotes from some of my favorite movies.
For example: From Star Trek II, Spock's funeral scene, all the way through to when Bones says "He's not really dead, as long as we remember him". From Ghost, when Sam leaves, and he says to Molly, "The love you have inside, you take it with you". From S.O.B., when Felix's friends give him a burial at sea, and Julie Andrews is singing "Oh Promise Me" in the background. |

Well, yeah, you could always create a DVD containing bits from films like that.

Yasashii that's an awesome choice. One of the best movies of my childhood together with Pay it Forward and Forrest Gump
Mine would be something like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxX8279Onbo |

Re: What music would have played at your funeral?
I would write the song for my funeral.
And at the end I record my own suicide. It's called musical closure. In A minor. |

I reckon so. :) Imagine somebody actually doing it and at the end somebody finds his body and a recorder and finds out the recorder didn't start! :)

here goes a different choice:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZoUi4OIYCE I would love to have this sang during the mass in my funeral... Well, not that I would care at the time, for obvious reasons, but still is a good way to go! |
