well I really like Buddy Holly

The Agony and the Ecstasy, about Michaelangelo and the Sistine Chapel, with Charlton Heston was terrific.

Brians song all the way the original one ny the way. James Caan rocked in that flick:D

Not to be reduntant (reduntant), but Lawrence of Arabia, of course, followed very closely by GoodFellas.

Gotta admit, I couldn't stick with 'Lawrence.'

I really loved A Man for All Seasons.

I thought of a great one--Seargent York (sp?) with Gary Cooper. Truly excellent.

Sergeant York (1941) is the true story of Alvin York, a rural sharpshooter who became the greatest American field soldier war hero of WWI. The movie, like most biopics of the day of course, is pretty sugar-coated and corny despite being directed by the amazing Howard Hawks, but it is an interesting story just the same. Won Gary Cooper one of his two Best Actor Oscars (the other being High Noon). He won that year over Orson Welles as Charles Foster Kane.
