I've done this on another forum and thought it would be really cool to try here. The only flaw I can think of for this forum is that there would be more interest in foreign actors that are not on the list. I don't really know a solution for this, but if anyone has an idea just let me know. (copy pasted description from other forum) ----- As we all know, Hollywood is a scary place with money hungry producers and scummy talent agents and overpaid movie star actors and actresses. This "Make a Movie Draft" is not just about creating a movie you would enjoy - its also about creating a movie others will watch and finding cast and crew who will work for you within your budget. Your goal in this Make a Movie Draft is up to you, as always. You may want to create a big budget superhero movie or a small arthouse film or an Oscar bait period piece. But the decisions you make will effect other decisions you can make in the areas of casting, budgeting, writing, etc. Signups 1. Cole 2. DrSoup007 3. CiCi 4. Daniel M 5. Seanc 6. Ursaguy 7. Nabby 8. Gatsby 9. AdamUpBxtch Awards: Films will be judged in the following categories (by the rest of the forum members). -Box office flop/success (each film) - Best film - Highest grossing film - Most entertaining film - Favorite performance - Most likely to win the Academy Award for Best Picture - Most likely to win the Academy Award for Best Director - Most likely to win the Academy Award for Best Actor - Most likely to win the Academy Award for Best Actress - Most likely to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor - Most likely to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress Draft: You will draft the following cast and crew members. 1 Director 1 Writer 1 Executive Producer (if you can't think of producers here is a helpful list) 1 Composer (optional) 8 Actors (minimum) In addition, you may draft the adaptation rights to a series, book, or real life event. There will be 12 rounds. Budget: You will have $45 million to spend on your cast and crew. If your producer has had a film gross over $500 million in the past decade, or has been nominated for multiple Best Pictures, you get an additional $5 million in budget. If your director has been nominated for an Academy Award and has never produced a big budget (budget over $50 million) film, Tier 1 and Tier 2 stars will work for $10 million. If you are adapting a major film franchise (film in this franchise has grossed over $100 million) you have an additional $5 million in budget. Your expenses are: -- $2 million per actor unless the actor is listed below, in which case you pay the salary listed below. After the draft you may sign additional undrafted actors for $500,000 per actor. -- $2 million for a writer (if your director has writing credits on a feature film, this is optional) -- $1 million for a composer, unless that composer has won an Academy Award for Best Original Score, in which case s/he will cost $2 million. If you choose not to draft a composer, you will pay $1 million for a popular music score. Producers and directors work for free, as they get a sizable cut of the box office receipts. *Note: Director must have had atleast 1 feature length film in the past 5 years (and be alive) to be eligible for drafting. Actors salaries are based on the Vulture 100 movie stars list, which I broke into four tiers (first 20, next 30, next 30, final 20). http://i.imgur.com/4ldOnww.png Tier 1 ($15 million) Jennifer Lawrence Robert Downey Jr. Leonardo DiCaprio Sandra Bullock Denzel Washington Angelina Jolie Tom Hanks Johnny Depp Brad Pitt Bradley Cooper Channing Tatum Matt Damon George Clooney Hugh Jackman Will Smith Ben Affleck Matthew McConaughey Christian Bale Tom Cruise Amy Adams Tier 2 ($10 million) Chris Hemsworth Liam Neeson Mark Wahlberg Shailene Woodley Vin Diesel Meryl Streep Emma Stone Anne Hathaway Dwayne Johnson Melissa McCarthy Scarlett Johanson Daniel Radcliffe Jennifer Anniston Jonah Hill Benedict Cumberbatch Julia Roberts Mila Kunis Chris Pine Kevin Hart Andrew Garfield Natalie Portman Jamie Foxx Robert DiNero Daniel Craig Seth Rogan Will Ferrell Jeremy Renner Reese Witherspoon Zoe Saldana Charlize Theron Tier 3 ($8 million) Russell Crowe Ben Stiller Kate Winslet Cameron Diaz Steve Carrell Cate Blanchett Jake Gyllenhaal Daniel Day Lewis Michael Fassbender James Franco Tom Hardy Bruce Willis Emma Watson Chris Evans Zach Galifianakis Joseph Gordon Levitt Chloe Moretz Chris Pratt Jeff Bridges Adam Sandler Ryan Gosling Rachel McAdams Colin Firth Jason Bateman Javier Bardem Justin Timberlake Jessica Chastain Kristen Stewart Jason Segel Jason Statham Tier 4 ($5 million) Tina Fey Lupita N’yongo Kevin James Zac Efron Keira Knightley Sean Penn Julianne Moore Henry Cavill Mark Ruffalo Robert Pattison Clint Eastwood Christoph Waltz Ryan Reynolds Tyler Perry Penelope Cruz Paul Rudd Anna Kendrick Naomi Watts James McAvoy |

Re: Make a Movie Draft: Signups
It's certainly a little late to implement a new category since it would probably throw the whole system off but a Cinematographer would be an interesting choice to add to the mix. And how do Executive Producer's work, they just seem to bring in more money if you choose them early on I'm guessing? Also I'm failing to see how not picking a writer effects you, in fact it just saves you money if you think the director can do a good enough job.

I'll join.
Do all the actors, and everyone involved have to be alive too, yeah? |

Bump again!
What do you guys think about the actors not listed and their pricing. Should we keep it as it is or find something to help make it more accurate for foreign/lesser known guys. |
