Well, ****.

I assume there is no way to change usernames, though seeing that the original DSM hasn't posted in a few months, perhaps I will avoid the awkward possibility of him ever posting after me.

You can ask the site's admin, Yoda. He doesn't like people just wantonly changing names, I think, but he's a reasonable sort and your dilemma seems reasonable enough.
