Kidnapped woman shot by police

At the end of the movie, a woman get the upper hand over her kidnapper. They are on a table or stand. There is a box or coffin that the man locked her into (I think). He is laying in the box. She is kneeling on top of him. She raises a kitchen knife to stab him The police come in just then and shoot her. Oops.

Set in modern times. He keeps her in an apartment like in NYC. I think he keeps her chained. Can't remember anything else.

Edit: I probably saw the movie 10+ years. ago.

I found a description from other message boards:
A movie where a man keeps a woman in a box or trap door under floor. I can’t remember if it’s actually his wife or someone he abducted. I even believe he lets her out during the day to go to the store and stuff. (Not Colleen Stan, “Girl in the Box”)
This was an episode of Ghost Whisperer entitled "Ball and Chain". Other possibilites are suggestions from this message boards:

Thanks but that is not the one. I am surprised no one seems to remember this movie. I thought this would be an easy question. I believe it had a name actor or actress in it and was a mainstream movie. Not some straight-to-DVD horror film. At first, I thought it had a name like Hard Candy. But my searching drew a blank.

Lol, you don’t remember the movie so why would it be easy for us to come up with a title? :)

Because a large group of people is more likely to know a given thing than one specific person.

I do remember the movie. I don't remember the title. That is a reason why this site exists.

Somebody gave me an information:
It kind of sounds like how I remember the end of "Freaky" but it's been a little bit since I've seen that movie. But it leans more toward comedy than horror (it's considered both) so I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for
Freaky (2020) - it is possible?

Thanks but no. There are a lot of Girl in the ... movies. I don't see one that fits. It is probably based on the girl in the box story. Maybe.

Just throwing this out. If anyone wants to see a REALLY strange woman in a box movie:

Boxing Helena 1993 with Sherilyn Fenn and Julain Sands
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106471/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

I won't say anything about the plot but the very ending is a bummer. It is an American made movie :(

Kim Basinger was originally going to be in that movie and got sued when she backed out of it.

She walked away from it while she still could?

Yep. Her career was starting to take off and she decided that appearing in this movie would be detrimental to her future prospects.
