Neiba's All-Time Top 100 (2015 Edition)
Welcome to my TOP 100!!! http://45.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_la...6mn3o1_500.gif I've been postponing this for months because I'm never happy with the order I use or the films I left out but I decided that I'd just do it and see what happens! Expect to see some movies you probably never heard of, though the majority are relatively well known. I'll be posting one at a time, and I'll try to do 2-3 posts a day. Keep coming, repping, commenting, flaming, whatever you want... :) Hope you like it!!! Neiba Complete list:

This should be interesting.

100. Lucky Luke: La ballade des Dalton a.k.a. The Ballad of the Daltons René Goscinny, Henri Gruel France 1978 Well, I'll be damned. Open up, will ya? Come on, I was sentenced too, wasn't I? I have the right to be in jail This might be a odd film to open my list but in fact it's the best I can think of to be appearing first. La Ballad des Dalton was the first contact I had with a Western, even before knowing what a Western was. It's one of my childhood favourite movies. I watched this countless times when I was a kid on its original version (I can say it even helped me to learn how to read first than most people I know) and recently when I had the chance to revisit it, it didn't lose any of its charm. The animation is pure gold, the musical scenes are brilliant (now I know from which movies are they "stolen") and it has a spaghetti western vibe that I absolutely love! |
Listen to them: the children of the night. What sweet music they make. I had this on my Top 50 last year but a more recent watch made it fall some spots. Not that I didn't love it (or else it wouldn't be here), I just became aware of some of its flaws. Nevertheless, from the brilliant opening sequence to the gory and erotic last act, Dracula has a terrific soundtrack, editing, cinematography and script (the fact that is so close to Stoker's novel is fantastic) but it's Gary Oldman who really makes this into something more than a really good movie. Oldman should be mentioned every single time everyone speaks of the best Dracula ever, right in the top of the list. He becomes not only dangerous and creepy but also seductive and wise. It's a out of this world performance, especially considering how many great actors have played Dracula before and how fresh this role looks on Oldman. And that genius almost hides the fact that Keanu Reeves and Wynona Rider are simply not good enough to share the screen with Oldman and Hopkins. |

I really like that version of Dracula.

That Dracula is excellent. It is my favourite post 70s Coppola film.

98. Vinni-Pukh a.k.a. Winnie-the-Pooh K. Khitruk Russia 1969, 1971, 1972 https://russianuniverse.files.wordpr...pooh.jpg?w=331 I will pretend that I am a small cloud, then they won't understand anything. This a kind of 3-in-1. Three short movies of the Russian version of Winnie, the Pooh that I decided to agregate as one single entry. The animation type and soundtrack are to die for and the whole script is surprisingly deep and incredibly funny. Oh, and of course, all in the glorious russian language. The 3 parts are all excellent but the 1972 one is especially brilliant! Available on youtube. |

Ouch, can't give any rep for your first three films, 'cause I haven't seen them yet. I think your tastes have become too obscure for me. :p
I'll be tracking this thread quite often though. :) |

I saw Dracula at the movies and I was bored senseless, but it was late and I was drunk so who knows.
Never heard of the other two. |
Re: Neiba's All-Time Top 100 (2015 Edition)
Yeah, I'm not sure if there's any movie you should see drunk (except for Les Miserables, but for that I'd recommend alcoholic coma), so it's hard to say you don't like it! :p
Give it a try sometime (sober)! :) |
Re: Neiba's All-Time Top 100 (2015 Edition)
Actually that version of Dracula was one I'd watch drunk quite often. I've seen the first half of that film quite a few more times than the second. :D

Normally I'd get really tired and go to bed, but a couple of times I woke up in front of a blank screen. It wasn't that unusual to get lost inside my head and suddenly realise that I hadn't been watching for 20 minutes or so. :D

Russian Pooh looks retarded. Every next part is better than the previous one, though. More parts were planned, but the director didn't get either the consent or money to make them. Or maybe both. I only hope that since you included Winnie the Pooh, there will be Cheburashka & Crocodile Gena as well. They must be! They're sooo superior to that retarded bear!
And Russian Pooh is way more similar to a bear than the english one... |
