The odd couple embark on their first homicide investigation as partners, involving a young woman known to Murtaugh with ties to a drug and prostitution ring.

The original Shane Black movie, Lethal Weapon features all the hallmarks that would come to define the man's few but undoubtedly distinctive attempts to update film noir for the sensibilities of an audience hungry for high-concept blockbusters.

Gibson teasing the guy and telling him to jump if he really wants to is disturbingly hilarious, and such is Murtaugh telling Riggs to kill himself if he really wants to die that badly.
